This month\u2019s featured artist is Maria Tomczak.<\/p>\n<p>Maria Tomczak lives and works in Opole, Poland. She is an award-winning haiku poet and digital artist, recently interested in photo manipulation art. As a teenager she was interested in manga and anim\u00e9 and naturally this expanded into a fascination with a wide swath of Japanese culture, especially literature and history. Her haiku and haiga have appeared widely in publications around the world. She values haiga because it can touch the soul even more than a single poem or artwork.
