JAMMU, July 3: Dogri Sanstha Jammu today released the first-ever collection of poetry in the Dogri language by eminent writer Promila Manhas titled “PhullenladoyeeRaat Rani” in a simple yet impressive book release feature at the Government College for Women Parade, Jammu.
The chief guest on the occasion was Dr. SP Saraswat, Principal GCW Parade Jammu and the function was officiated by Prof. Lalit Magotra, Chairman Dogri Sanstha Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Promila Manhas said that publishing a book has always been a writer’s dream. She was very happy that her dream had finally come true. She also wowed the audience by reciting a few poems from her book.
In his address, Dr. Saraswat said that this fine collection of poetry was indeed a welcome addition to the rich Dogri literature. He further added that Promila’s poetry on various topics will be an inspiration for those who wish to write good poetry with creative input.
While presiding over the function, Prof. Lalit Magotra said Promila Manhas had been writing in Hindi as well as the native Dogri language for a long time. A beautiful book has been waiting for her for a long time and it is quite appreciable that she has come up with a beautiful creation in the form of “PhullenladoyeeRaat Rani” which speaks volumes about the immense potential that this poet possesses, he said. said, adding that it is to be hoped that she will come up with more in the future as well to enrich the Dogri literature.
On this occasion, an article was also presented by Rajkumar Behrupia in which he elaborated on the creative journey of the poetess and gave a detailed critical analysis of the book.
The function was led by Prof. Shashi Pathania, Vice President Dogri Sanstha Jammu while the vote of thanks was presented by Rajeshjwar Singh ‘Raju’, Secretary General Dogri Sanstha Jammu.
