High School Football Snapshot: Sartell-St. Stephen Sabers

A return to their ways of winning. This is the objective of Sartell-St. Stephane Sabers. Head Coach Scott Hentges joined me on WJON. The Sabers were 1-8 last season but have already started this season 1-0 after posting a 42-21 win over Tech last week in week zero.

Hentges says they have a good number of appearances at all levels and some key players are back this season, including his son, quarterback Cole Hentges. Hentges missed last season through injury. Cole started half of college games as a rookie and brings a wealth of experience to the position heading into his senior season. Hentges says they have plenty of experience on the offensive line with 3 returning senior starters.

Hentges says this is a senior led group and they have worked hard since youth football, continuing through 7v7 tournaments and college football. He says he feels really good in this team and enjoys coaching them.
