Lee LeVoy of Ellison Bay was already writing poetry when she husband, Hugheswas diagnosed with Parkinson’s. It was therefore natural that poetry became LeVoy’s mode of expression during her husband’s illness, and her second collection of poetry focus on this journey. sacred moments: Walk of a couple with Parkinson’s disease was recently published by sand beach pressa Baileys Harbor publisher.
LeVoy’s poems are personal – a clear, authentic chronicle of the varied emotions that accompany illness and its care experiences as she and her husband navigate change – but her words are sure to resonate with anyone who has had experience of caregiving, sickness or loss.
Discussing this collection, LeVoy said, “There was challenges, changes, stumbles and losses. There was tender moments, too. Writing these poems gave voice to my feelings, my fears, my questions and my gratitude.
