‘Untethered Times’ is coming to the Deming Art Center in April 2022


DEMING – “Untethered Times” is the title of the April 2022 public art exhibit at the Deming Art Center at 100 S. Gold Street. The show is organized by the Deming Art Council. Admission is free and donations are accepted.

Local artists Brian Pottorff and Mimi Garten will present their work. Pottorff is talented in several mediums and Garten is an accomplished photographer and poet. The title of the show is taken from a poem written by Garten.

The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Guatemalan market

The Guatemalan Mercado will be back in May at the center. It is the center’s main fundraiser and features items that are handmade in Guatemala. The Mercado will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday May 6 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday May 7.

Call for artists

The center will feature the annual Luna County Fine Arts and Crafts Fair in June 2022. It is open to artists who live in Luna County. The center will accept 1 to 3 pieces and the start of the school year will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday May 31, 2022.
