World Hindi Day is celebrated on January 10 every year. Vishwa Hindi Divas commemorates the anniversary of the First World Hindi Conference held in Nagpur on January 10, 1975. The conference was opened by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Nagpur.
Hindi is considered the native language of India. It is our nation’s simplest source of expression. It is our heritage and the most spoken language in the country. The Hindi word comes from the Persian word Hind, which means the land of the Indus.

History of World Hindi Day:
World Hindi Day was first celebrated in 2006 by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. The aim of the conference was to promote the Hindi language around the world.
